Wellington Premier League

Our first time at Wellington Premier league and what a great show ground!!

So friendly and organised, stallions in permanent stables all bedded up ready for them and nothing too much trouble.

The atmosphere was relaxed and the weather kind.

We took a gamble and put a drop noseband on Remy two days before coming and thought lets see how he is at a competition and wow we are so pleased we took the gamble.

Maisie and Remy were relaxed and ready for the freestyle and entered the arena raised her hand the music started and Maisie realised she had entered at the wrong end!! galloping down to the correct one and just making it(Jenny Lorriston Clarke timing her) she started her freestyle and now well behind had to re jig her floorplan!!

Credit to her she thought on her feet and got it all in and caught up with her music so hats off to her(dunce hats) that is. Remy obviously did not appreciate galloping to his first halt so a little tension in first part of canter was apparent but a score of 74.5 was great and smiles alround as Maisie saw the funny side of it and ended up 2nd overall behind Erin Williams on her Junior horse the stunning Fleurie and 1st in the pony section. Ponies juniors and young riders were against each other overall and then the winner of each group won training grants and prize money which was lovely.

Team test day dawned and last chance to impress the selectors.

This is a compulsory show and all the squads come. International Judge Jenny Lorriston-Clarke and International french Judge Raphael Saleh judged the team test and selectors watched and scribbled.

It is always a tense time and all the girls pulled out the stops.

Maisie and Rembrandt put in a lovely test, two small errors in the rein back and slight tilting in the two half circles but overall very nice accurate well presented test. Scores took ages but 73.53 put her in the lead and she stayed there winning the test with her pals Erin 2nd on 73, Harriet 3rd on 72 and Phoebe 4th on 71, Beth 5th on 70 and Aimee 6th on 69. Wow great scores alround and a tight finish but a nice victory for Maisie and Rembrandt.

Now all we have to do is it  wait and hope we get that email from BD office fingers crossed.
