IMG_0643  Rembrandt had a fantastic return to competition at The Northern Regional Championships at Frys, Aike Grange Stud this week.

Having been at stud and Maisie busy campaining her Junior Horse Hot Chocolate this season Remy has been out of the competition lime light but burst back in with a first test score of 76.76% at medium open 73 as a warm up to his regional championship the next day. This is his 3rd test in a row at the level that has been 0ver 76% confirming that he is on top form and looking and feeling great. He was focused, rideable and enjoyed every minute.

On the second day he was a little nervous realising maybe that he was back in business, nevertheless he pulled off another relaxed and flowing test and acheived an average of 72%+ score and 2nd place behind Maisie’s European team mate Lottie Fry, great news as this resulted in National Championship qualification and going up against our top senior riders like Michael Eilberg, Gareth Hughes, Maria eilberg etc, very exciting as Maisie has never been to the Nationals.

Maisie also competed her Junior European horse Hot Chocolate 43 winning a warm up test at Advanced and going on the next day to become Advanced medium open Regional Champion winning on a score of 71.38%. Chocolate was hot!! and very forward resulting in a few mistakes, canter from the halt and slight jog in the collected walk between pirouettes, but overall the rythmn and expression in the trot and canter work was fabulous and Maisie did a great job of keeping her focused and hit every marker accurately hence the good score even with the tension. This means both Maisie’s horses are off to the National Championships in September and we are all looking forward to it.
